Blynn Austin joined Avantax, then Blucora, in 2019 as the senior manager of corporate communications. In 2023, she was named the vice president of communications for Avantax. In her role, she oversees the public relations, advisor communications and corporate communications teams.
Prior to joining Avantax, Blynn was a Senior Associate at Perry Street Communications, a strategic communications firm in Dallas. She also held communications roles at Lockton Companies, the world’s largest privately owned, independent insurance brokerage firm and Hostess Brands, a leading consumer goods company and maker of Twinkies®.
Blynn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and earned her MBA, specializing in International Business, from Hult International Business School in London.
